About Us
Mosaic Art & Home, located in the historic heart of Smithville, TX, is more than just an art gallery—it’s a celebration of creativity, resilience, and community. Established in 2012 by local artists Jeri and Walter Winslett, the gallery was born from a story of perseverance after the couple lost their home in the devastating 2011 Bastrop County Complex fi re. With the support of David and Nena Marsh, they purchased and preserved a historic Main Street building, transforming it into a vibrant hub for local artistry. To mark its opening, Jeri and Walter commissioned artist Stephanie Distefano to create a mosaic mural of Smithville’s own Hannibal Lokumbe, a renowned musician and composer. This piece not only became a defi ning feature of the gallery but also a lasting contribution to Smithville’s growing collection of public art.

Beautiful art and pottery and the owner is very helpful. There are other shops and food venues on the same street so it is easy to have a full day os shopping and lunch/dinner.

Really cool shop. Lots of local artists creations offered. Unique gifts - paintings, jewelry, small furniture and soo much more. Visit regularly as new items are added all the time. Very friendly staff that can share history of item or artist of interest.

I always find something special here for any gift-giving occasion. Local and regional artists in a comfortable range of prices -- the jewelry selection is particularly good. Very welcoming associates, with good knowledge of the various artists. One of my 'go to' places for people who are hard to buy for.

This is such an amazing shop, looking through it is a blessing, now sure the prices are a lot but if you have the money to buy stuff it's good. Just walking through the place is amazing so I highly recommend doing so.
